Content Starts Little Mind Vacation: Trashy Lingerie and Love Motel Inspiration

Published by

“We’re here at Trashy Lingerie, and to me, this is livin’ large,” Carmen Electra says she invites us into L.A.’s Trashy Lingerie, that magnifique pink store with thin, red font on La Cienega.

Randomly, we thought of “Veronica’s Closet,” that NBC sitcom with Kirstie Alley that aired for three seasons from 1997 to 2000. It starred Alley as Veronica “Ronnie” Chase. Ronnie was the head of her own lingerie company in New York City, and the show’s title was inspired by Victoria’s Secret. It was Kirstie’s chance to lead a show after playing Rebecca Howe on “Cheers”. The show, created by the same duo who created Friends, was similar to another NBC sitcom “Suddenly Susan” that focused on a woman wanting independence after a long-term relationship.

The show pulled in 35 million viewers for its premiere episode in 1997, whereas, as an old Vulture article pointed out, now a show is considered a hit if it gets 10 million viewers. In a Variety review of the debut episode, Ray Richmond wrote that while the series had the time slot of a hit (after “Seinfeld and before ER) the show “feels as if it should be much funnier.”

Very Famous spoke with Texas popstar p1nkstar at the beginning of quar (remember when we all called it that?) and talking to her gave us some hope for that future pink place. Now, starting a new year, she’s done it again with “Girls Like Us,” a live music video experience celebrating the work of Texas trans artists presented by Hotel Free TV. It’s an hour of pure pop beauty: puffer coats, choreography, crystal chokers, wearable tech, moments of angelic melancholy and sugar highs.

Before the cruise leaves the port, Very Famous is THRILLED to announce our new line 💜Candy Shop💜 a collection of themed packages for your inspiration. Today, we release our first package LOVE MOTEL, available for $12 plus shipping on our online store (soon, we hope, our mall store too).
