Rock Candy Takes Us to the Candy Shop
There’s a new kind of candy shop in town, cowgirls. We fell in love with the confectionery delights of Rock Candy Toys, a new brand of sugary sex toys from gummy-bear vibrators to lollipop-inspired dildos. We would be remiss not to say that it is, in fact, a sweet fantasy.

Casey Murphy, product educator for Rock Candy, talks to Very Famous about the origins of the candy shop theme and why sex and candy belong together.
I love the whole vibe of Rock Candy—it’s so fun and sexy—how did the vision for it come about?
Thank you! Our founders set out to create a brand that would connect with and introduce sex toys to a wider demographic of people—regardless of gender, age, or experience level. When we thought about different concepts and life experiences that had the potential to spark such a collective connection, the most prevalent common denominator was candy. It’s hard to find someone who doesn’t have a favorite type of candy or who hasn’t been enchanted by a candy shop visit at some point in life.
We approached the development process by getting really clear on these types of questions:
— What would excite our target audience in a really unique way?
— What theme will provide us with unlimited opportunities for product innovation?
— What kind of products will allow us to build on the product line year after year?
— How can we support brick-and-mortar shops and give their customers a one-of-a-kind experience that hasn’t been done before?
The candy theme checked all of those boxes and then some! Our team is stacked with award-winning adult industry veterans, and we have so much fun coming to work and creating products that make people smile (and orgasm!)
Where does the visual inspiration for Rock Candy’s products come from?
Our branding elements—packaging, color palettes, and fonts—incorporate a lot of vintage-inspired elements. For merchandising components, our art department worked with mainstream designers to create our retail countertop product display, the Candy Shoppe, to resemble an old fashioned candy dispenser. The combination of each brand element, including product shapes and names (Lala Pop, Candy Stick, Gummy Ball, etc.) go hand-in-hand to transform the shopping experience for consumers, which can be intimidating for some.
They may be shopping in a sex toy store, but we wanted to facilitate a similar Disney effect that takes them out of that environment and into a world of…pure imagination! (Hats off to Mr. Wonka.) Being strategic about all of these components has proven to be critical because to exist in a highly competitive market, you have to create something extremely unique that can’t be easily replicated or found on Amazon. Why do candy and sex belong together?
Sex and candy are the best of both worlds; it’s being able to experience pleasure in an empowering capacity on your own terms while incorporating something that sparks playfulness and happy memories! The time-honored candy shop experience and other cherished parts of youth may seem to slip away as time goes by, so the sex-and-candy dynamic really lights up consumers because they can relive that nostalgia. Our theme takes a very familiar concept and puts it into a “grown-up” container where you can “have your cake and eat it too!” so to speak.
I think it’s so cool that there’s a cam component to the site—how did that idea come about?
We’ve found that a large number of people shopping on our website are couples, so we added a cams feature to encourage shoppers to dabble in something they might not have tried before. This also goes for single folks who find themselves on our site, too. At the end of the day, we are simply committed to providing enjoyable products and services that enhance pleasure and happiness on a daily basis.
What are some of the customer favorites so far?
Our Gummy Bear Vibe is definitely a fan favorite! It looks exactly like an edible gummy bear—so much that 99% of people who see it in person will ask if they can eat it! (No, don’t do that, haha!) We like to call it the “gateway toy” for those who may have been skeptical about purchasing a sex toy in the past. It is easily recognized, easy to use either alone or with a partner, and no one will be suspicious if you accidentally leave it in a public place!
The other favorites are the Suga Stick, which is a vibrating wand with a shockingly strong motor—it has a micro-ball on the tip that directs pinpointed vibes to any external part of the body. The Suga Stick DOES NOT play! It’s versatile, so it can treat the nipples, perineum, or the shaft to intense stimulation. The Suga Daddy is our crown jewel dildo as well—the silicone is exceptional. What are some new Rock Candy products on the horizon?
Our Summer 2019 collection expanded on our original line of vibrators: the Candy Stick, Lala Pop, Swirls, and Suga Stick. Since they were received so well by customers, we created scaled-down versions and named them Fun Size! They maintain the same power and multi-speed motors as the original versions, and we wanted to take something that was already working well for us and make it even more approachable from a consumer standpoint. They look and feel exactly like the full-sized versions, but they can fit in any pocket or purse. They are fantastic beginner vibes because they are SO CUTE! But they are also great additions to a well-seasoned expert’s toy chest.
