Balloon Place in Los Angeles

Some businesses so effortlessly conjure a mood! For sale to someone who understands je ne sais quoi, there is Star Video+ at 8312 S. Broadway in the City of Angels.

The sign offers the internet, games, gifts, and balloons, so I put on Carly Simon’s “Coming Aroud Again” to set an ambiance. Just down the street from Roscoe’s House of Chicken and Waffles, Star Video+ tells a vibrant orange, yellow and turquoise color story in downtown Los Angeles.

If the marketing brochure’s accurate, it looks the videos have been removed but they can, of course, be repopulated should you be so inclined. (We here at Late Night Real Estate HOPE you are!) The description says “it might have multiple uses” and was previously a video store, laundry facility, and laundromat.

A perhaps fashionable plan could be a laundromat/video store/balloon operation. Star Video+ also has a bangin’ internet presence, with a neon sign advertising “internet cafe” and a Facebook background featuring their signature orange-and-yellow in the form of a sunset and wavy PowerPoint font.

It looks like Star Video+ was open for around six years. “Solo recuerda que te sigo Esperando” their last post reads invitingly. Gated parking is available in the back, and the owners have replaced the roof and added “heavy-duty Armstrong Industrial flooring” in a fun checkerboard pattern.
