TONIGHT! On Late Night Real Estate: Detroit’s Lion Gate Estate could be yours!

“Only shown on sunny days” is the very poetic last sentence snuck into the listing of the Lion Gate Estate. In the Detroit neighborhood of Grixdale Farms (Fun fact! The first full mile of concrete paved road in the United States can found in Grixdale on Woodward Avenue), the home is a museum in each room.

The $550,000 price tag doesn’t just buy you this house — the sale includes the entirety of the home’s contents, including your very own player piano (Kohler Campbell baby grand!), 1950 Frigidaire kitchen appliances in perfect condition, a !!!! one-of-a-kind custom-built 1966 Cadillac Fleetwood Sedan and 1974 Lincoln Mark IV Coupe, a pool table, countless Grecian busts and mirrors galore.

The house is standard suburbia size — 3 bedrooms, 2ish baths. You’ll also have a heated swimming pool with an outdoor shower and cabana. Each room has a distinct theme, from the very Liberace living room to the ’70s garden party kitchen to a decked-out Elvis diner. Lion’s Gate Estate is 20 years in the making. In an interview with the Detroit Free Press, the home’s owner, Ronald Nassar (Mr. Ronnie!) is described as a retired industrial designer who worked for a sunroof manufacturing company. His parents bought Lion’s Gate when he was 8, and it’s been his project of love for 20 years.

Nassar said he refers to the home’s charisma as “the wow factor.” He told WXYZ Detroit, “It’s a simple three letter word, but it says a lot and if I can get that out of anybody that walks in for the first time, I’m happy. I’ve done my job.” He hopes the future owners will “fill the house with roaring laughter.”
