Late Night Real Estate: A Tiny Island in Bora Bora
What if you just bought a dang island?
As a little kid and aspiring member of the 10%, I was obsessed with hotels, books with titles like The Preteen’s Guide to the Stock Market, collared button-up blouses from Gap Kids, and Vladi’s Private Islands. Tonight, in homage to Little Me, the Indoor Pool Real Estate Agency is revisiting a Classic.

Because we here at Very Famous aren’t looking to taunt, tonight’s featured island for sale can be found under “Low-Cost Islands”. If you thought islands can ONLY be for the very monied, it’s really time to think again!” It’s a common misconception that private islands are the exclusive domain of millionaires and celebrities,” Vladi writes. “Yet as our long list of low-budget islands proves – it’s definitely possible to be a private island owner and still have change left over.”
Wait, ok sorry, I checked and it turned out the Low-Cost Islands are in places like Nova Scotia—not what we’re looking for 🙁

TONIGHT’s featured island is Haapiti Rahi! Located in the lagoon of Bora Bora, this island—with a home already built—is selling for $5,521,810 and is described as “straight out of a picture book.” Two-and-a-half acres of white sand, clear water, and hibiscus flowers can be yours!
The island—or motu, which means very small island—comes with two homes, a technical facility (what’s that?), and easy boat access for your friends visiting from Tevairoa and Moto Mute. Your island paradise is in the shadows of two mountains!

“Whilst considerable repairs and renovation work are needed, the two houses nevertheless form a great basis for luxurious island living,” Vladi tells us. The main house comprises almost 2000 sq. ft. and is spread over two modules which are linked by a large deck.
“Once restored to its former glory, the main house would easily host a living area with two rooms, an open kitchen, a mezzanine, a shower room and a master bedroom, whereas the second house (approx. 1,000 sq. ft.) would host two bedrooms, a living area with open kitchen, a mezzanine, a bathroom and a decking area,” Vladi writes.

Now, for the $5, 521, 810 question, how do you get to your new island? After arriving at the Fa’a’ā International Airport, then you will hop on Air Tahiti’s inter-island flight to the Bora Bora Airport, then you will visit the Rent-a-Boat Office.
